The Abelhof grounds feature a large wildlife enclosure boasting a total area of approx. 6 hectares and more than 55 animals. Watch the deer! These shy wild animals can be observed up close. The animals live under conditions almost identical to those in their natural habitat in the large area which allows them a great deal of freedom to move around. Chef Peter, a farmer and hunter to his core, takes care of his animals with a great deal of love and affection. The best hay is harvested from our own farm's meadows to be used as food for the deer.
Feeding the animals is a fantastic experience for people both young and old - the impressive autumn deer rutting season is equally remarkable. Spring sees the mighty stags shed their antlers and their offspring appear.
So there's plenty to see in the wildlife enclosure all year round.
